Review: The Bane Chronicles

The Bane Chronicles The Bane Chronicles by Cassandra Clare
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

The Bane Chronicles is a great addition to the Shadowhunter series and for anyone who loves Magnus Bane; this book will be a wonderful read! When reading TMI I absolutely fell in love with Magnus and his character, the sass and the flamboyancy of his personality was just so fun to read and to have a book that details stories from his past is incredible as it helps paint a bigger of who Magnus is and how his past has shaped him into the lovable Warlock that the majority of us have come to know and love.

Admittedly, I did struggle getting into this novella bind up at first, the pacing through the first couple of stories felt a little slow to me and I did find myself having to take breaks between stories as I didn't want to end up forcing myself to make it to the end; as that would have taken the enjoyment out of the book for me. However once I got to the Midnight Heir and the stories regarding The Hotel Dumort, I found that I was flying through the stories a lot faster and enjoying them a lot more.

I thoroughly enjoyed What to Buy the Shadowhunter who has everything and The course of True Love (And First Dates) though I am bias to Alec, Magnus and the tales of Malec (I mean come on they're adorable, also Alec Lightwood is my son and I will defend him til the day I die).

Overall, It was a good read and a lovely extension of the world and the characters that we've known from The Mortal Instruments and The Infernal Devices by Cassandra Clare!
